Zoran’s life began being hatched in an orphanage with not a clue as to what happened to her parents or why she’d been left there. At the age of five, Zoran was temporarily adopted into a small foster family, with a Charizard father, Sylveon mother, and an older Eevee brother. Zoran and her foster brother got along well together, going on adventures around their small town and exploring every chance they got. Their expeditions came to a sudden halt one day after a tragic accident. The Absol had convinced her older brother to climb up a tree with with her, resulting in the Eevee falling, becoming severely injured. He was rushed to the hospital where they learned that the fall had caused damage to his spinal cord, resulting in him being paralyzed from the waist down. For the next week after he’d been hospitalized Zoran began having nightmares of her brother and parents blaming her for the accident, soon believing them to be true.
Distraught the young ‘mon ran away until she reached Mauville City. The large metropolis didn’t offer the young Absol a warm welcome and she found herself on the streets. A Zoroark street performer, Noah, took the girl under his care, teaching her the ways of the streets and the art of misdirection and pickpocketing. While Zoran was led to believe he was doing this out of kindness, she would later learn she was nothing more than a tool to him. After a few weeks under his training the younger ‘mon had become an adept pickpocket able to lift just about anything off a mark. Once he had deemed her ready they began hitting the streets, Noah distracting people with his tricks of illusion while he sent Zoran into the crowds, pickpocketing the unsuspecting spectators.
Zoran and Noah made up a great team, raking in plenty of cash to keep the two of them afloat until it all fell apart. During one of Noah’s regular performances the young Absol found herself caught by a Pangoro she had attempted to pickpocket. Instead of coming to the girl’s aid, Noah fled leaving her to the mercy of the large Pokemon. Zoran then realized Noah had only been using her as a pawn, never carrying any form of feeling towards her. The Pangoro almost instantly recognized her as the missing Absol they had been broadcasting about on the news. Zoran immediately began begging him not to take her back, explaining in as little detail as possible her reason why. Realizing she’d been abandoned by the Zoroark and seeing her obvious fear of returning home, the Pangoro, Coric, decided to take her into his home for the night.
The next morning Coric tried to convince the younger ‘mon that it would be in her best interest to inform her family of her whereabouts. Despite her protests, Coric returned with her to her hometown where her family greeted her with open arms. However, the sight of her older brother wheelchair bound was too much for the girl to take, openly blaming herself for being the one who put him there. Although her parents and brother tried convincing her otherwise, she insisted on leaving the town permanently even though it would mean she’d have to return to an orphanage, as she was still a minor. Not wanting to see the young Absol be sent to an orphanage, Coric decided to take her home to Mauville City with him. He began setting her onto an honest path, later formally adopting her as his younger sister.
A few years after their meeting, both the Pokemon began to tire of the bustle of the large city and began to yearn for a quieter, more peaceful life. It was then Coric remembered a letter he had received a few months prior about a small, up and starting town looking for residents. A few weeks later the two were packing their things and heading towards the town of Springleaf.
